Thane civil hosp gets clinical psychologist

Following the efforts of an NGO operating special school for children in Mumbra, the Thane Civil Hospital for the first time has appointed a clinical psychologist to certify mentally challenged students.

Earlier, the children had to be taken to government hospitals in Mumbai for the certificate.

Thane-based NGO Ummeed Foundation has been running a school for the special students in Mumbra for the past eight years. The students need disability certificate stating them as mentally challenged. The psychologist will be in the hospital every Wednesday from 9am to 12 noon.

Parvez Farid, president of the foundation, said, “The appointment will not only help our children but all the special children across the district.”
