Thane civil hosp gets clin­i­cal psy­chol­o­gist

Fol­low­ing the ef­forts of an NGO op­er­at­ing spe­cial school for chil­dren in Mum­bra, the Thane Civil Hos­pi­tal for the first time has ap­pointed a clin­i­cal psy­chol­o­gist to cer­tify men­tally chal­lenged stu­dents.

Ear­lier, the chil­dren had to be taken to gov­ern­ment hos­pi­tals in Mumbai for the cer­tifi­cate.

Thane-based NGO Um­meed Foun­da­tion has been run­ning a school for the spe­cial stu­dents in Mum­bra for the past eight years. The stu­dents need dis­abil­ity cer­tifi­cate stat­ing them as men­tally chal­lenged. The psy­chol­o­gist will be in the hos­pi­tal ev­ery Wed­nes­day from 9am to 12 noon.

Parvez Farid, pres­i­dent of the foun­da­tion, said, “The ap­point­ment will not only help our chil­dren but all the spe­cial chil­dren across the dis­trict.”
