Fake doctor held from Kharghar
A 47-year-old man who had been running a clinic at Kharghar, sector 10, posing as a medical practitioner has been arrested by the police last week.
According to the police, Vitthal Munde opened his clinicCity Hospital- at Kopra village around one-and-a-half year ago and started treating patients. However, he closed the clinic all of a sudden a few weeks ago without informing his landlord and went into hiding. He also owed some cash to the landlord.
“The landlord got suspicious and he approached the medical council of Maharashtra,” said Dilip Kale, senior police inspector of Kharghar police station.
The police arrested him from his native place in Beed. They learnt that the accused also had clinics at Ulwe, Uran and Ghansoli village. “The accused used to claim himself to be an MD. He had been working like this for almost two decades. We have also learnt that he has three wives and five children at different places,” said Shrikant Shinde, assistant police inspector.
