Fake doc­tor held from Kharghar

A 47-year-old man who had been run­ning a clinic at Kharghar, sec­tor 10, pos­ing as a med­i­cal prac­ti­tioner has been ar­rested by the po­lice last week.

Ac­cord­ing to the po­lice, Vit­thal Munde opened his clin­icCity Hos­pi­tal- at Ko­pra vil­lage around one-and-a-half year ago and started treat­ing pa­tients. How­ever, he closed the clinic all of a sud­den a few weeks ago with­out in­form­ing his land­lord and went into hid­ing. He also owed some cash to the land­lord.

“The land­lord got suspicious and he ap­proached the med­i­cal coun­cil of Ma­ha­rash­tra,” said Dilip Kale, se­nior po­lice in­spec­tor of Kharghar po­lice sta­tion.

The po­lice ar­rested him from his na­tive place in Beed. They learnt that the ac­cused also had clin­ics at Ulwe, Uran and Ghan­soli vil­lage. “The ac­cused used to claim him­self to be an MD. He had been work­ing like this for al­most two decades. We have also learnt that he has three wives and five chil­dren at dif­fer­ent places,” said Shrikant Shinde, as­sis­tant po­lice in­spec­tor.
