The Ganesh idol immersions in Juinagar mostly take place at the Chincholi pond of Juinagar (Shiravane village).

To ensure there are no traffic snarls, the police have issued a notification with respect to traffic in the area on the 5th, 6th, 7th and 11th day of immersion, which fall on September 9, 10, 11 and 15 respectively.

Deputy commissioner of police (traffic), Arvind Salve, said the measures have been taken for the residents’ convenience.

“We have declared that Juinagar’s Gaodevi chowk and Manikrao Badoba Palkar chowk will be ‘no-entry’ zones for all vehicles other than those in the visarjan rally,” Salve said.

“More traffic regulations have been put in place for the node including no parking, no entry and diversions,” said Salve.

“The notification will be in force on September 9 from 2pm to 10pm, on September 10 from 2pm to 10pm, on September 11 from 2pm to 10pm and on September 15 from 12 noon to 6am on September 16 when the immersions are expected to end,” said Salve.
