NOT SHY­ING AWAY FROM DI­A­LOGUE WITH PAK­ISTAN: GOVT

NEW DELHI: In­dia on Fri­day said it is not shy­ing away from di­a­logue with Pak­istan, but it was Is­lam­abad who is afraid of giv­ing con­sular ac­cess to Kulb­hushan Jad­hav, a for­mer naval of­fi­cer ar­rested on charges in Pak­istan.

In­dia has long de­nied that he was a spy.

“In­dia has never ever shied away from en­gage­ment with Pak­istan,” min­istry of ex­tern a l a f f a i r s s p o ke s p e r s o n Vikas Swarup said, re­act­ing to Pak­istan Prime Min­is­ter’s for­eign af­fairs ad­vi­sor Sar­taj Aziz’s re­marks that In­dia was shy­ing away from the talks.

He said Pak­istan in­stead is shy­ing away from giv­ing con­sular ac­cess to Jad­hav.
