Heavy rain leaves Mumbai reeling
MUMBAI: One person drowned in a nullah near Govandi, six suffered minor injuries in a slab collapse at Mankhurd and lakhs of Mumbaiites were inconvenienced as heavy rain disrupted life in the city on Friday. What’s worse; you may end up spending your weekend at home with the IMD predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall over the next 48 hours.
While the island city received 81.71mm rainfall between 8am and 4pm on Friday, the eastern suburbs received 92.03mm and the western suburbs 79.44mm rainfall, leading to waterlogging in at least 49 spots across the city.
