VASHI: Res­i­dents of the city are in for a vis­ual treat of a va­ri­ety of North-Eastern art and cul­ture for the first time in the city on Satur­day, Au­gust 27.

The one-day event ‘Songs and Dances of North-East’, con­cep­tu­alised by the North Eastern Coun­cil, Shil­long, in co­or­di­na­tion with the depart­ment of tourism of Arunachal Pradesh will be or­gan­is­ing their se­cond edi­tion at Navi Mum­bai after the first suc­cess­ful edi­tion of the fest in Delhi last year.

The day-long pro­gramme will be held at Cidco Ex­hi­bi­tion and Con­ven­tion hall at Sec­tor 30 in Vashi from 10am to 10pm.

Var­i­ous per­for­mances on tra­di­tional dance forms from dif­fer­ent parts of the north east such as Lai­harabo, Cham, Tripuri, Bodo, and Garo will be per­formed by artistes. Con­tem­po­rary mu­sic artistes such as Lou Ma­jaw, Guru Rew­ben, Omak Ko­mut Col­lec­tive, The Vinyl Records and oth­ers too will per­form on Satur­day.

You will also get a taste of mouth-wa­ter­ing north-east del­i­ca­cies.
