2 mandals booked for violating rules
THANE: Two dahi mandals in Ulhasnagar have been booked for not following the Supreme Court orders. A case has been registered against the founders of Shivtej Mitra Mandal and Radheshyam Govind Nagar Pathak.
On Thursday, Shivtej Mitra Mandal formed a human pyramid at Lal Chakki at Ulhasnagar that exceeded the height limit of 20 feet.
Radheshyam Govind Nagar Pathak sent a minor govinda to the top tier to break the handi. The police said Sujal Umesh Ghadapkar, 12, sustained injuries to his head back and chest after he fell off the pyramid.
The organisers were charged under section 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide), 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others), 338 (causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) and 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of 34 of the Indian Penal Code.
