2 man­dals booked for vi­o­lat­ing rules

THANE: Two dahi man­dals in Ul­has­na­gar have been booked for not fol­low­ing the Supreme Court or­ders. A case has been reg­is­tered against the founders of Shivtej Mi­tra Man­dal and Rad­heshyam Govind Na­gar Pathak.

On Thurs­day, Shivtej Mi­tra Man­dal formed a hu­man pyra­mid at Lal Chakki at Ul­has­na­gar that ex­ceeded the height limit of 20 feet.

Rad­heshyam Govind Na­gar Pathak sent a mi­nor govinda to the top tier to break the handi. The po­lice said Su­jal Umesh Ghadap­kar, 12, sus­tained in­juries to his head back and chest after he fell off the pyra­mid.

The or­gan­is­ers were charged un­der sec­tion 308 (at­tempt to com­mit cul­pa­ble homi­cide), 337 (caus­ing hurt by act en­dan­ger­ing life or per­sonal safety of oth­ers), 338 (caus­ing griev­ous hurt by act en­dan­ger­ing life or per­sonal safety of oth­ers) and 188 (dis­obe­di­ence to or­der duly pro­mul­gated by pub­lic ser­vant) of 34 of the In­dian Pe­nal Code.
