Kharghar day­care cen­tre owner, help booked for at­tempt to mur­der

NAVI MUM­BAI: The owner and do­mes­tic help of a Kharghar day­care cen­tre were charged with­at­tempt­to­mur­der­a­dayafter they were ar­rested for as­sault­ing a nine-month-old girl un­der their care. CCTV footage at the cen­tre shows the help throw­ing the baby to the floor and toss­ing her around. Both the accused had been pre­vi­ously booked for vol­un­tar­ily caus­ing griev­ous hurt and com­mon in­ten­tion.

The in­ci­dent an­gered lo­cals, with around 80 ac­tivists from po­lit­i­cal par­ties tak­ing down hoard­ings and break­ing rail­ings and shut­ters at the cen­tre that had

been­lockedsinceFri­day­morn­ing.

Mean­while, the baby’s mother said her daugh­ter is too trau­ma­tised to be with her or any other woman. The girl is un­der ob­ser­va­tion at For­tis Hos­pi­tal in Vashi.
