Petrol price hiked by 2.21 a litre, diesel by 1.79
NEW DELHI: Petrol price was on Friday hiked by Rs2.21 a litre and diesel by Rs 1.79 per litre, excluding local levies.
The revised rates will be effective from Saturday.
After the hike, including local levies, petrol in Mumbai will cost Rs75.27 a litre as against Rs72.62, said Indian Oil Corp, the nation’s largest fuel retailer. Similarly, a litre of diesel will cost Rs62.40 a litre as compared to Rs60.15.
Rates were last revised on December 1 when petrol price was hiked by 13 paise a litre, but diesel rates were cut by 12 paise.
