PUNE: In its first year in Ma­ha­rash­tra, the Sun­burn fes­ti­val has run into trou­ble with rightwingHin­dut­vaor­gan­i­sa­tions in­clud­ing the Shiv Sena, while the state­saysthereis“nothin­guneth­i­cal” about the mu­sic fest.

The state made it clear it has of­fered “non-fi­nan­cial” sup­port to the event in or­der to at­tract tourism.After­be­ingheld­fornineyears in­Goa,the10thedi­tionof theEDM event is sched­uled at Kes­nand near Pune from De­cem­ber 28 to 31. Sha­laka Sa­hasrabud­dhe of Sanatan Sanstha said, “The Goa gov­ern­ment­bannedSun­burn­this year­due­toit­sob­sce­ne­na­ture.Now that they have shifted to Pune, we will op­pose them here.”
