Bis­han Singh Bedi was pri­mar­ily a slow left-arm bowler. He served In­dian cricket from 1966 to 1979 and formed the fa­mous spin quar­tet along with E Prasanna, S Venkataragha­van and B Chan­drasekhar. He also cap­tained the In­dian side for 22 test matches. In 1990, he had a brief stint as coach of the In­dian team and was the first per­son to be ap­pointed to this job in a full-time ca­pac­ity
