Rape ac­cused MLA’S prop­er­ties at­tached

NAWADA: In a bid to ex­ert pres­sure on the ab­scond­ing Nawada MLA Raj Ballav Ya­dav to sur­ren­der and an­swer charges against him, the po­lice started the process of at­tach­ing his prop­erty on Sun­day. The MLA is ac­cused of rap­ing a mi­nor.

Ya­dav’s house-cum-rjd of­fice in Nawada town, where he al­legedly raped the mi­nor, was at­tached.

More than 250 po­lice per­son­nel were de­ployed to avert any un­to­ward in­ci­dent dur­ing the ex­e­cu­tion of the court at­tach­ment or­der. De­ploy­ment started late Satur­day night and ve­hi­cles’ en­try to the area was banned. A joint team of Nalanda and Nawada po­lice, com­pris­ing eight DSPS rank po­lice of­fi­cers, be­sides CRPF, state rapid ac­tion forces and dis­trict armed po­lice forces of Nawada and Nalanda, moved in to­gether. The po­lice also at­tached the MLA’S other im­mov­able prop­er­ties in Patna, Gaya, Nalanda and Nawada, be­sides two petrol pumps.
