Baahubali to aid cops make city roads safer
If you know why Katappa killed Baahubali, the Mumbai police has another question for you — why don’t people follow traffic rules?
Piggybacking on the immensely popular Baahubali films — the sequel released last week — the Mumbai police came up with a plan to publicise its traffic awareness campaign with an eye-catching tweet. The tweet had a still from the film and text that said: “Mumbai, we have 2 questions for you. Katappa ne Bahubali ko kyu mara; and why don’t people follow traffic rules”. The tweet read: “And the second, can be answered only by you! #Bahubalioftrafficdiscipline”. Police spokesperson Ashok Dudhe said, “We are going by the trend.” The police asked followers to answer with the #Bahubalioftrafficdiscipline. The trend caught on. By Saturday, there were 1,112 retweets, 3,037 likes and 269 replies, as the @Mumbaipolice handle, one of the most followed forces on Twitter, has 2.61 million followers.
