DEMAND FOR CHOPPER TO FIGHT FIRE

Residents of Beaumonde Towers requested the fire brigade to bring a chopper for fire-fighting, as the turn table ladder could not reach the top of the building owing to structural projections at its base. The residents also offered to pay for the chopper services. Local legislator Sada Sarvankar who was at the spot endorsed the demand. However, Rahangdale said, "Choppers cannot be used in these kind of fires. The blades of the chopper can fan the fire and spread it. Choppers are used for fires in forests and large open fields."
