MUM­BAI: A six-year-old girl who was left in­side the Saina­gar (Shirdi) to Dadar Ex­press train af­ter her 30-year-old fa­ther got off in Kalyan on Wednesday, was res­cued by the rail­way pro­tec­tion force (RPF) on Thursday.

RPF of­fi­cers found the girl asleep in the sleeper coach af­ter they searched the train in Dadar. Ac­cord­ing to an RPF of­fi­cer, on Thursday evening, they re­ceived a call from the Kalyan sta­tion man­ager that a pas­sen­ger’s daugh­ter had been left be­hind in the train which had left Kalyan sta­tion to Dadar. The of­fi­cial said the pas­sen­ger, Om­prakash Hari­pal Yad­hav , a res­i­dent of Dom­bivli was trav­el­ling from Shirdi to Kalyan by the train 12132 and was seated on S-6- 5. As the train reached Kalyan, Ya­dav got off along with his wife and lug­gage.

When Ya­dav ex­ited the sta­tion, he found his daugh­ter Lipika miss­ing. Af­ter a brief search, he re­alised that he had left his daugh­ter in the sleeper coach. “Ya­dav ap­proached us, af­ter which, we searched the train com­part­ment Ya­dav was trav­el­ing in. We found that Lipika was sleep­ing on the seat,” said an of­fi­cer from RPF Dadar.

The of­fi­cers took the girl and handed her over to her fa­ther who ar­rived at Dadar sta­tion within an hour.
