LET’S SPARE A THOUGHT FOR THE UNDERPRIVILEGED
Fortunately for me, I mostly work from home and I am saved the torture of being stuck in traffic for hours on end.
However, I am concerned about the daily bread earners, the salesman, the cart-pullers, stall owners and the ubiquitous postman who, come rain or shine have to bear the brunt of the hot sun. Let us do our bit to help those in need.
Keep a cool glass of water ready for the workers toiling away in the sun outside your house or offer a ride to someone walking in the sweltering heat. Office goers too face inconveniences but most of them have the cool comforts of an air-conditioned office to look forward to, after a long commute.
Nonetheless, this is the price that we all have to pay for our follies. It’s time that we elect representatives who have better foresight and have a vision for the city rather than crib about the non-existent infrastructure.
