‘EVERYONE’S DEFINITION OF GLAMOROUS IS DIFFERENT’

Hina Khan says she hopes to bag strong and modern roles unlike her previous one; adds that people love her in western looks

Hina Khan is known for playing the quintessential bahu thanks to her popular character in an ongoing TV show for eight years. Post her exit from the show, she is looking forward to altering her image by taking up different roles.

Hina says, “I did a dance number for a Holi special on TV. It was a good opportunity for me, and it showcased me in an avatar that the audience hadn’t seen. I was playing my age. I love to dance, though I don’t think I am a good dancer. My Indowestern look rocked. I went all out and people got to see the real Hina.”

The actor is active on social media and her photos in sexy avatars and western ensembles send her fans in a tizzy. “I put up photos when I dress up for events but I haven’t done a proper photo shoot. I want to do a hot photo shoot but not cross the line. I want the look to be glamorous unlike my onscreen bahu avatar.” She is enjoying the attention she is getting and she consciously wants to be spotted in “western outfits” rather than Indian.

After being part of a daily soap for eight years, the actor is enjoying her break, and is not in a hurry to get back to work. She adds, “There have been offers but nothing has been striking. Now, I want to do a role that is strong yet different, and within my comfort level, which lets me do more. It’s been only three months, since I left my show so I am not bored yet but I also feel it is time I get back to work.” She’s been working on her health and physique, and enjoying travelling too.

While Hina doesn’t want to cross the line with her photo shoots, there are other actors such as Nia Sharma and Rubina Dilaik who posted a few glamorous photos of themselves and were called names. Hina feels “everyone’s definition of glamorous is different”. “What they are doing or putting up doesn’t make them wrong. Social media can be tricky as people can be vicious and attack anyone. Nothing can be done about it. Both of them have been seen in glam avatars but when I do it, it will be a new thing for me,” says Hina adding with a laugh, “Even after a glamorous photo shoot, you might anyway end up doing a daily soap.”
