We have made a film that appeals to a large variety of people: Milan
The team of Baadshaho is in celebratory mode after their film opened to great numbers on the opening weekend. Starring Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi, Esha Gupta, Ileana D’Cruz and Vidyut Jammwal, the film has performed very well in metros as well as small towns across multiplexes and older theatres, say the makers.
“It’s a myth that films fall into either “mass” or “class” audiences, “single screens” or “multiplexes” because Baadshaho has broken all these notions,” says a source. On Friday, the film earned
` 12.60 crore, on Saturday the box-office collections were
` 15.60 crore, and on Sunday, it raked in ` 15.10 crore. Even after the weekend, the film did a brisk business of ` 6.82 crore on Monday and ` 6.12 crore on Tuesday taking the total collection to ` 56.24 crore.
Director Milan Luthria says, “It’s a different experience that I’ve tried to give to the viewers, and I’m glad it has been well accepted. It’s difficult to make films that reach out to a large variety of people, and I think somewhere we have achieved that.”
Producer Bhushan Kumar of T-Series says, “It’s been a very fruitful journey working on this film. We have had an extensive and elaborate marketing and music campaign, and the film has now given us very good opening results. I’m sure the appreciation will sustain.”
Baadshaho, which has been produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar and Milan Luthria released on September 1, 2017.
