On Monday, the trailer of the highly anticipated film, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s (SLB) Padmavati was launched and was received with an overwhelming response. Starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh, the film promises to be an extravagant cinematic experience.

Ajit Andhare, COO, Viacom18 Motion Pictures, says, “I am thrilled at the kind of response pouring in from across the world for our trailer. As producers, we have put in our best in the film. Sanjay is in top form here, weaving an intensity and intrigue about all the three principle characters on a grand canvas. Besides Sanjay, the actors too have hit perfect notes. The trailer has set an all-time high watermark on peak viewership within 24 hours, beating all other landmark films recently. I want to take this opportunity to thank the audiences for all their love and appreciation.”

Deepika says, “SLB brings out the best in me as an actor. The way he pushes you, challenges you... That’s what drives me to do his films.” Calling Bhansali a “genius” and “master craftsman”, Shahid says, “It is so difficult to explain the magic of working with him. He has a plethora of talent within him. It’s been a magical journey. I feel very fortunate.”

Ranveer too is all praises for the film-maker. “Bhansali has opened my eyes, expanded my universe and given me wings to fly. He’s brought out certain aspects which I never realised I had within me. He has had a profound influence on me and has molded me into the artiste that I am today,” he says.

Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati is all set for a worldwide release on December 1, 2017.
