Vir to work on an IndoAmerican project
Last year was a heavy touring year. This year is a heavy year acting wise. There will be movies, web series and shooting through the year. VIR DAS, ACTOR
Vir Das, who recently turned producer, has now joined hands with a Hollywood producer to produce an Indo-American project. Apparently, it’s a comedy which is said to have an ensemble cast, with a mix of Indian and American actors.
“Vir has been working internationally which subsequently developed into fruitful associations including an online special show and a TV series in the US in which he plays the lead. Beside, Vir was on a world tour for his show, where he performed across twenty six countries. The actor seemed to have formed international connections owing to his growing fan base in the international markets,” says a source.
Talking about being keen on exploring more international work collaborations, Vir says, “I think the world has never been smaller. I don’t think we need to classify things as Indian and foreign anymore. There are just good stories. And they want to be watched by everyone in the world. The online special was something Americans and Indians could sit on the same sofa and enjoy. There’s no reason we can’t do that with movies and fiction.” He adds, “The new project is still in the development stage. We’ve got a great story. Last year was a heavy touring year. This year is a heavy year acting wise. There will be movies, web series and shooting through the year. I’m going to be writing for at least one of the four or five projects this year.”
