Actor Bhumi Pednekar (above), who made her Bollywood debut with Dum Laga Ke Haisha last year, says as an actor she would not want to stick to one genre and that she is “greedy” for trying different roles in films. “I actually haven’t thought about it. For me, it’s like each script as it comes... But as an actor I would not want to stick to one genre because I am an extremely greedy actor,” says the actor, adding, “I want to do different type of roles, experiment with myself and push boundaries. I really hope I get the opportunity in the future.”

Bhumi, however, says that she is “not feeling any pressure”. “I know there are a lot of expectations, but that energy to me is more motivating. I’m more motivated to do better and I hope I can surpass my performance as Sandhya, the character that I did in Dum Laga Ke Haisha.”

Bhumi is currently prepping for her next release, directed by Sameer Sharma, who had previously directed the 2012 comedy film, Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana. Talking about her character, she says, “It’s very relevant to what love is today and how love changes you. And the girl is happy, peppy and blunt to the face, but at the same time very stable and mature,” she said.
