Actor Taher Shabbir (above) shot to fame with the television show Nisha Aur Uske Cousins, where he played the role of Viraj Singh Rathore. He then shared screen space with actors such as Shah Rukh Khan in Fan (2016) and Taapsee Pannu in Naam Shabana. The actor says that he would do anything, just to live in the world of films.

“Since I was 14, I have loved cinema. I love it so much that even if someone asks me to sweep floors at a film set, I will do it as long as I can stay on sets. I can edit also, I have written three films and co-written a film also,” says Taher, whose production Hanuman Da Damdaar released recently.

For his TV show, Nisha and Uske Cousins, he said that he had gone to meet the creators to reject the role. “Then, I read a scene where my character is giving an interview and talking about the need for women empowerment. I thought, ‘there is a man fighting for women and I thought this is my chance to help revolutionise television in India,’” he says.
