Salman and Sajid are friends indeed!

- Prashant Singh

Salman Khan’s friendship with filmmaker Sajid Nadiadwala is one rocksolid relationship that goes back a long way. The 1997 hit film Judwaa had brought them together for the first time. The duo went on to work together on multiple projects, with the last being Kick in 2014.

Here’s how a tricky situation turned out well, all thanks to their bond. Producer Atul Agnihotri and Salman were looking for a particular title, Bharat, for their next collaboration — an adaption of a 2014 Korean film, Ode To My Father. “Coincidentally, the title was owned by Sajid. So, when Salman called up Sajid, the latter happily gave him the title free of cost. Sajid knows that the script demands it,” an insider has shared with HT.

Salman has always been close to Sajid. “Their equation isn’t just professional but it’s equally strong in the personal sphere, too. Their family members including Sajid’s wife Warda [S Nadiadwala] and their kids are also very close to Salman’s family,” says the insider. Professionally, too, Salman and Sajid have also worked together on films such as Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega (2000) and Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004). Recently, Salman also made a special appearance in the rebooted version of Judwaa, which starred Varun Dhawan.
