BASMATI BLUES MAKERS APOLOGISE FOR TRAILER
Makers of the Hollywood film Basmati Blues, starring actor Brie Larson, have apologised after its trailer was thrashed on social media for “generalising” India’s culture. Brie’s character of a American scientist is shown meeting stray goats, eating spicy food, and getting her feet washed in brass plates in India. “Unfortunately, the international trailer has given the wrong impression of the film’s message and heart. We deeply regret any offense caused,” reads the statement by filmmakers Monique Caulfield and Danny Baron.
