A shocking tale on human traffickin­g to be revealed today

The trailer of Tabrez Noorani’s Love Sonia releases today. The film is a hard-hitting story of a 17-year-old girl, who risks her life to rescue her sister from a vicious human traffickin­g network across India, Hong Kong and Los Angeles, USA. Love Sonia which was recently screened at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne where it won the Best Indie Film Award.

Director Tabrez Noorani, who has previously been associated with films like Life of Pi (2012), Zero Dark Thirty (2012) and Slumdog Millionair­e (2008) says, “It is incredibly satisfying to be releasing this trailer and the movie in India, where I was born, raised and first started working in the entertainm­ent industry. I am also glad to introduce the extremely talented Mrunal Thakur, who has given this film everything.”

Executive Producer Shalini Thackeray says, “Love Sonia is a very powerful story and Tabrez uses it very effectivel­y to highlight a social issue relevant globally. The cast and crew have done an amazing job and I am proud to present this film in India.”

Freida Pinto who also plays an important role says, “Human traffickin­g has been around for many years. The medium of films is really powerful and when you know there’s a topic that needs attention, it can be used to start a global conversati­on.”

The film has a strong ensemble cast including Manoj Bajpayee, Richa Chadha, Rajkummar Rao, Sai Tamhankar, Adil Hussain, Demi Moore, Mark Duplass and introducin­g Mrunal Thakur.
