Buyers appeal to CCI for help
builders have demanded more payment at a time when banks have not started disbursing loans. Almost 90% buyers who have bought in the area depend on home loans.
It is alleged that buyers are being threatened that their allotments will be cancelled if they do not pay within a week. Interest on the unpaid sum has also been demanded. “Hundreds of buyers have received can- cellation letters without any prior notice or advance reminders being served to them,” the letter says.
One builder has also threatened buyers that it will change their loan from a flexi plan to a construction-linked plan if some extra charges are not paid up immediately.
“We are hoping CCI will take some action and serve notices to errant builders,” he said.
