Areas near the Yamuna and it floodplains are in Zone O of Master Plan 2021. Various recommendations have been included in the plan to preserve the riverbed, floodplains and the areas around it. Here are the salient points:

tion room at Salim Garh Villages are characterised by a mix of different land uses and have similarities in compact built form, narrow circulation space and low-rise high density developments. These mainly accommodate residential, commercial and industrial uses and function as a mix of such uses. The list of urban villages in River Yamuna is as follows: Subhepur, Jagatpur, Wazirabad, Jaitpur, Mithapur and Badarpur Khadar.

The continuance of these villages in River Yamuna/ River front, Zone O is required to be examined in view of the eco-sensitive nature of the zone. Preparation of the redevelopment plans by the concerned local bodies should be within three years. These villages to be treated as special area where special area regulations shall be applicable The Delhi High Court has passed orders from time to time, the same are to be con- As per MPD 2021 provisions, in-situ upgradation of the land pockets of slum and JJ clusters, which are not required for public/priority use is the first option for provision of affordable housing for rehabilitation of squatters. Resettlement colonies though planned schemes, are also to be upgraded in a similar way for infrastructure provision.

A resettlement colony, Madanpur Khadar, is spread over an area of 51.2 hectares with provisions for public and semi-public facilities existing in this zone Regularisation of unauthorised colonies is a continuing process and is subject to the government guidelines approved from time to time. The tentative list of the unauthorised colonies falling in each Zone has been annexed to every zonal plan. As in the case of village abadis, the landuse of the finally approved unauthorised colonies located in any use zone, at any point of time, within the boundaries specified by the competent authority, would be residential.

The plan recomments that the continuance of these unauthorised colonies in River Yamuna/ River front, Zone O is required to be examined in view of the ecosensitive nature of the zone.
