A comfortable place to live in

Ihave been living in pocket F of Mayur Vihar Phase II since the last 24 years. In these long years this place has changed beyond recognition. I am the general secretary of the residents’ welfare association of pocket F. We take the cause of the residents and make them work for us. It’s our continuous effort that the area is wellmaintained, green and clean.

Security, however, is a matter of concern here. There is need for more police patrolling to avoid incidents of theft. We have raised this issue with senior police officers in the local police station and we hope that our concerns will be addressed.

While most parts of Delhi suffer from water and power crisis, these issues are alien to us. Residents are quite satified as there is regular power and water supply here.

The USP of this area is its greenery, which is very refreshing. There are four well-maintained parks where we go for morning and evening walks. We even have a sports club in pocket C that offers facilities for playing cricket, vol- leyball and basketball.

Even the municipal corporation officials are efficient and cooperative. Whenever we approach them for any work, they pay heed to our requests immediately. We don’t have to go around calling them for days.

It is due to these reasons that property rates have increased here in the last few years. All the basic amenities are available easily.

The only major issue here is regarding access to Mayur Vihar Phase I Metro station. Though it is only four km away, there is no direct access.

We either have to opt for rickshaws or our personal transport to get there. There is an association club where residents gather during festivals.
