RIGHTS AND LIABILITIES OF THE LANDLORD AND TENANT
The relationship between a landlord and a tenant is governed by the agreement that expressly stipulates the rights and obligations of the parties. The agreement is enforceable by law, and provides the reciprocal rights and liabilities of the contracting parties. However, in the absence of an agreement or local usage to the contrary, the landlord and the tenant of immoveable property possess the following major rights and liabilities, amongst others. any encroachment made upon, or any interference with the landlord’ s rights concerning such property.
