‘Stop all illegal constructions’

HT Estates - - HTESTATES -

Ihave been living in Khirki Extension for several years and at present I am the vice president of the residents’ welfare association of J4 block. Out of all the eight bocks, J4 and J3 have the most number of foreigners. We have no problems with anyone as long as we live in peace. But unfortunately, over the last couple of months, the area witnessed some untoward incidents and late-night scuffles.

I do not blame the foreigners as every society has such problems. The key is to identify these negative elements and take necessary action. Which is why I support what the chief minster Arvind Kejriwal and law minister Somnath Bharti did. It’s because of their effort that the issue is being dealt with. But this is not a permanent solution.

The other big issues are ille gal construction and lack of civic facilities. Illegal construction is rampant here and we want the law minister Somnath Bharti to take up this issue as well. Due to large- scale encroachment, we don’t have a single park here. People are openly violating laws in connivance with police and civic officials.

We have taken several initiatives on our own. For instance, we pooled in money and got 16 CCTV cameras installed at various crucial points to keep a check on visitors.

We hope that the current government takes up issues such as water logging, broken roads, water supply, absence

of sewerage system, etc.
