‘I did not get a discount’

Iwork with a south Delhi-based company and feel proud of the fact that I have bought a home for myself at such a young age. When I invested in a large group housing project in Noida two years ago during the Navratras, the developer had held a lucky draw to offer discounts to selected customers. I was quite happy to find that my name had been announced in that draw and looked forward to getting a decent discount on the basic price.

Since I bought the flat on a construction- linked plan, the developer promised that the discount would be ‘adjusted’ with the payment I made for the apartment. However, over a period of time, I noticed that instead of adjusting the discount, the developer demanded more payment for the apartment, which upset me very much.

When I confronted the developer he told me that my name had ‘inadvertently’ been added to the list of lucky customers and that I was not going to get any discount on the unit booked.
