Dwarka, Delhi’s l argest sub city, lies to the southwest of the national capital. It could take a drive of 40 to 45 minutes from from Gurgaon’s DLF Cyber City to get here. The Indira Gandhi International Airport is about 13 km from Dwarka’s sectors 4 and 6. It is bordered by NH 8, outer Ring Road, Najafgarh Road, Pankha Road, and the Rewari railway line. There’s good connectivity to central Delhi and Gurgaon. Feeder bus services connecting the two Metro stations – Dwarka and Dwarka Mor – are also available.
Sectors 4 and 6 are considered to be posh residential areas. Almost every society in these sectors has parks, open s p a c e s a n d p l ayg r o u n d s . The best thing about these gated communities are the facilities provided – such as gyms, community halls, intercom, 24/7 security, lifts, Wi-Fi (in a few societies), power back-up, parking and so on. Facilities differ from society to society. Maintenance, too, is charged separately and the amount varies.
Ever since it got access to the Metro, Dwarka has gained prominence as a residential option. It is one of the most developed residential societies near Gurgaon and attracts IT professionals working in the suburb as it is a much better planned area than Janakpuri or for that matter Rohini – other areas close to the Haryana powerhouse.
Water is a major issue in Dwarka and residents are mostly dependent on DDA for water supply, which provides water tankers in most of the residential societies.
