As per the Chinese lunar calendar, the year of the wooden horse (January 31, 2014 to February 25, 2015) brings changes in the fortunes of all zodiac signs. In this series, I will take you through the fortunes of each one of them. Should you sit on the fence and tread carefully or gamble and gallop ahead fearlessly? Check out what’s in store for you and how you should make the most of this year:

Horse

According to the Chinese lunar calendar, your zodiac sign is horse if you are born after the fourth of February in the following years: 1906, 1918, 1930, 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014 (If you were born on the fourth or before your sign is snake and not horse)

Career: Plan your work and work your plan is the golden key to success this year. It’s a competitive year filled with obstacles. Be patient and bide your time, you’ll triumph in the long run. A leadership position is on the cards for you. Beware of temper flares and confrontations that can damage your reputation.

Money: Your social life is scintillating and this comes with a hole in your pocket. Hang on to whatever you have and strive to invest it. The urge to splurge will be on an all-time high, so watch out. Avoid lending and borrowing of money and aim at savings.

Health tip: Your health improves this year and you recover from whatever ails you. Make time for pausing, resting and refuelling. It can do won- ders. Be careful of rash driving, road rage and speed.

Goat/sheep

According to the Chinese lunar calendar, your zodiac sign is sheep if you are born after the fourth of February in the following years: 1907, 1919, 1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003. (If you were born on the fourth or before your sign is horse and not sheep) Both horse and goat are land dwelling grazers. Needless to say, they share a compatible relationship. This is a good year for sheep people.

Career: You will find creative solutions to surmount stubborn problems and succeed.

Money: Money shouldn’t be a problem for goats this year. This is not a time to ponder, deliberate and ‘think things over’. Follow your intuition and act fast or the opportunity will slip by.

Health t i p: Boost your immune system with regular exercise. Your digestive system is likely to suffer, so watch what you eat.
