Zone O un­der the Delhi Master Plan 2021 has all the req­ui­site pro­vi­sions that are re­quired un­der the plan for river re­ju­ve­na­tion and river-de­pen­dent eco­nomic ac­tiv­i­ties such as cre­ation of trans­porta­tion hubs and wa­ter­ways, say ex­perts.

I t c om­prises a t ot al of 9700 hectares, out of which around 62 hectares com­prises the Com­mon­wealth Vil­lage, Ak­shard­ham tem­ple and the in­fra­struc­ture in and around the area.There are 980 hectares of ex­ist­ing unau­tho­rised de­vel­op­ments, 528 hectares left aside for recre­ational ar­eas and a large area com­pris­ing 7,362 hectares is cat­e­gorised un­der wa­ter bod­ies.

This can be used for river re­ju­ve­na­tion projects such as recre­ational ac­tiv­i­ties and river de­pen­dent eco­nomic ac­tiv­i­ties that in­clude cre­at­ing piers, trans­porta­tion hubs and wa­ter­ways, says Ramesh Menon of Certes Realty.. Res­i­den­tial A
