Only 30% original allottees left
Jalvayu Vihar is a very well-connected area in Noida. I have been living here for almost 30 years now. This place has developed into one of the most upmarket areas of Noida with hospitals, schools and shopping malls close by.
With time, however, I have also seen the living conditions getting worse here. As against one or two entry gates in most Resident Welfare Associations (RWA), we have seven to eight entrance gates in our society. As a result, there are thefts in the locality almost every day. Passages are blocked by the land mafia. Residents from other sectors park their cars here, society dues are not paid and drains are also blocked. We don’t see any swacch Bharat here, it’s just dirty Bharat.
The whole society is allotted to Air Force and Navy personnel is now occupied by non-service people. About 70% apartments have been sold to outsiders who are not registered members of the society. As a result, no one is ready to cooperate. At times things become unmanageable. There is no one to address important issues as there is only one head appointed to look after the whole society.
We have been requesting the commissioner of the housing board, based in Lucknow, to convert this society from Awas Samiti to RWA. The board has been urged to divide the society into 15 blocks with separate management committees for each block. They, however, say the work is huge and have been delaying things
since October 2011.
