EAST VINOD NAGAR
East Vinod Nagar has fairly broad roads but five-storey buildings stand on small plots. The structures have been expanded vertically but by using substandard and cheap material to construct additional floors. These floors, usually shabby and poorly constructed, are in the danger of collapsing during a quake. Wide drains in the area are mostly nonfunctional, thus narrowing the width of the road. Big ambulances and fire brigades cannot enter the roads easily. During heavy rain, there is a high risk of young children falling into the open drains in the area.
