A his­tor­i­cal per­spec­tive: Farid­abad was founded in 1607 AD by Shaikh Farid, trea­surer of em­peror Je­hangir with the ob­jec­tive of pro­tect­ing the high­way that passed through the town Carved out of Gur­gaon’s womb: The city was in­cluded on the map of Haryana on Au­gust 2, 1979, as the 12th dis­trict of the state. It was carved out of Gur­gaon dis­trict. Around 100 pri­vate re­alty projects have been launched since 2006 in sec­tors 75 to 79 In­dus­tries and em­ploy­ment: The to­tal num­ber of small, medium and large in­dus­tries in Farid­abad dis­trict is about 15,000. These pro­vide di­rect and in­di­rect em­ploy­ment to nearly half a mil­lion peo­ple. The city is try­ing hard to at­tract com­pa­nies ac­tive in the ser­vices sec­tor space Master Plan 2021: The Greater Farid­abad 2031 Master Plan that is yet to be no­ti­fied has a pro­vi­sion for around 35 new res­i­den­tial sec­tors out of which five to seven are in­sti­tu­tional and in­dus­trial. The MRTS cor­ri­dors have also been iden­ti­fied along the cur­rent op­er­a­tional metro cor­ri­dors run­ning in Farid­abad Prop­erty val­u­a­tions: Prices of re­alty projects in Sec­tor 88 range from ₹ 44 lakh to ₹ 46 lakh for a 2BHK and ₹ 61 lakh for a 3BHK. A 2BHK in an un­der-con­struc­tion project costs ₹ 32 lakh. Rentals for a 2BHK in Farid­abad are around ₹ 10,000 per month and for 3BHK units they’re around ₹ 15,000
