The um­brella scheme The Cen­tral government has launched the Hous­ing for All by 2022 scheme that aims to pro­vide af­ford­able hous­ing to the eco­nom­i­cally weaker sec­tions and low in­come group Hous­ing needs: Un­der the Cen­tral government scheme, about two crore af­ford­able homes will be con­structed in the next seven years. Cur­rent re­quire­ments for af­ford­able hous­ing units is about three crore units. Some states have come up with schemes be­fore the Cen­tral scheme Aligned with Cen­tral ini­tia­tive: The HFA mis­sion ab­sorbs all sim­i­lar schemes such as the Ra­jiv Awaas Yo­jana launched in the past. State gov­ern­ments have to do their bit in or­der to align their re­spec­tive hous­ing schemes with that of the Cen­tral scheme UP scheme 2016: Dif­fer­ent states have launched af­ford­able hous­ing schemes. Un­der the Sa­ma­jwadi Awas Yo­jna of the Ut­tar Pradesh government, the state aims to con­struct three lakh houses across the state for the eco­nom­i­cally weaker sec­tion. These units will be con­structed by both development author­i­ties and pri­vate builders Haryana hous­ing scheme: Al­most two years af­ter the af­ford­able hous­ing scheme was launched in Haryana, sev­eral devel­op­ers have launched hous­ing op­tions in the price range of ₹ 17 to ₹ 24 lakh. About 57,000 apart­ments mea­sur­ing about 400-600 sq feet are up for sale in the en­tire state
