KISAN MELA BEGINS AT GURDASPUR TODAY
LUDHIANA: Punjab Agricultural University ( PAU) is organising its regional Kisan Mela at Gurdaspur on September 27.
Agriculture minister (Punjab) Sucha Singh Langah, will inaugurate the mela while the PAU vice-chancellor, Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon will preside over the function and the Gurdaspur, deputy commissioner, Mohinder Singh Kainth will be the special guest of honour.
The mela will be inaugurated at 10.30 am followed by visits to field demonstrations on new varieties and technologies and the technical session will be held at 11.30 am.
The farm experts will provide useful tips to participating farmers on Rabi crops. There will also be a question answer session in which the experts will address the farmers’ queries. The Krishi Vigyan Kendras, self help groups, nongovernment organisations and banks will also put their stalls for the benefit of the farmers.
