LUDHIANA: To provide a safe ride to people on the elevated road from Sabzi Mandi to Jagraon bridge chowk, senior deputy mayor Praveen Bansal visited the site on the elevated road with his technical team of experts.

Bansal visited the site recently after a man died as he had hit a railing on the curve recently.

However, earlier also, many a time the issue was highlighted saying that the elevated road had not been built right technically and there were a number of faults that led to accidents. But, to overcome the technical lapses, Bansal visited the Jagroan bridge and particular turns where the maximum accidents took place.

He asked the officials concerned to install big railings with nets or sheets on it so that in case a person hits the railing supporting the elevated road, he avoids a serious accident. He also assured an early solution to the problem.

Making the most of the moment, even the traffic police on the Jagraon bridge also put forward their woes. They said the divider on the road was made on the wrong side due to which traffic jams were seen very often, increasing problems for them as well as the commuters.

Bansal ordered the officials to cut short the divider on one side so that the police could put barriers and hence divert traffic from the other side.
