Lecture on importance of Punjabi language
KHANNA: As per an United Nations Organisations' report, more than 5, 000 languages will fade away in the coming 50 years, said Surjit Singh, the key speaker, at a lecture organised on the ' Importance of Punjabi Language', by the Punjabi Department of Gobindgarh Public College, Alour (Khanna).
Highlighting the importance of Punjabi language among youth, Singh, an associate professor of Punjabi University, Patiala, urged them to use more and more 'Punjabi' in their daily life. Punjabi comedian Rana Ranveer was honoured by on this occasion. Ranveer, later on, amused the students with his performance.
The function kicked off with Neena Seth Pajni's, the principal, welcome note and concluded after a vote of thanks by Bhupinder Shahi.
