Lec­ture on im­por­tance of Pun­jabi lan­guage

KHANNA: As per an United Na­tions Or­gan­i­sa­tions' re­port, more than 5, 000 lan­guages will fade away in the com­ing 50 years, said Sur­jit Singh, the key speaker, at a lec­ture or­gan­ised on the ' Im­por­tance of Pun­jabi Lan­guage', by the Pun­jabi Depart­ment of Gobindgarh Pub­lic Col­lege, Alour (Khanna).

High­light­ing the im­por­tance of Pun­jabi lan­guage among youth, Singh, an as­so­ci­ate pro­fes­sor of Pun­jabi Univer­sity, Pa­tiala, urged them to use more and more 'Pun­jabi' in their daily life. Pun­jabi co­me­dian Rana Ran­veer was hon­oured by on this oc­ca­sion. Ran­veer, later on, amused the stu­dents with his per­for­mance.

The func­tion kicked off with Neena Seth Pa­jni's, the prin­ci­pal, wel­come note and con­cluded af­ter a vote of thanks by Bhupin­der Shahi.
