Recruitment drive brings stench to PAU grounds
Meanwhile, the PAU students, who were pained to see the candidates misusing the infrastructure, held the university authorities and the police administration responsible for the "negligence".
Sandeep, a sportsperson from PAU, said: "The university is already reeling under financial crunch and there are no funds for the upkeep of the existing infrastructure. The university has to bear with the unavoidable nuisance of landing and taking off of VIP helicopters. Now, the grounds being used poorly for other purposes is only adding to the woes."
Fitness tests for the recruitment of 382 constables in the city started here on Monday and will continue till December 10. Sandeep said: "If the police continue to ignore the sanitation issue, the PAU authorities will have another task at their hands - to steer clear the athletic ground of the stench."
DCP Ashish Chaudhary said: "There are toilets in the gymnasium, adjoining the ground. But, we can not do anything if the candidates do not have civic sense."
