Ramgarhia col­lege or­gan­ises an­nual prize dis­tri­bu­tion

LUD­HI­ANA: The an­nual prize dis­tri­bu­tion func­tion of Ramgarhia Girls Col­lege, Miller Ganj, was held in the col­lege au­di­to­rium on Tues­day. As many as 300 stu­dents from dif­fer­ent streams were awarded prizes for their ex­cel­lent per­for­mances in aca­demics, sports and ex­tra-cur­ric­u­lar ac­tiv­i­ties.

Pres­i­dent of Ramgarhia Ed­u­ca­tional Coun­cil Ran­jodh Singh wel­comed chief guest Ashok Arora, for­mer sec­re­tary of Supreme Court Bar As­so­ci­a­tion.

While ad­dress­ing the stu­dents, Arora im­parted tips to them on how to im­prove con­cen­tra­tion and con­fi­dence.

He cited ex­am­ples from ev­ery­day life to em­pha­sise the im­por­tance of dis­ci­pline in life.

" Op­ti­mism and self- love are es­sen­tial to growth and in­still the spirit of pride in one­self," he said.

Arora got nos­tal­gic and re­mem­bered his col­lege days and com­mented on the sig­nif­i­cant im­prove­ment in the po­si­tion of women these days.

Gen­eral sec­re­tary of the coun­cil Jag­tar Singh ac­corded a warm wel­come to OVER 300 STU­DENTS FROM DIF­FER­ENT STREAMS WERE GIVEN PRIZES FOR THEIR PER­FOR­MANCES IN ACA­DEMICS, SPORTS, CUL­TURE AND EX­TRACUR­RIC­U­LAR AC­TIV­I­TIES Gurminder Singh Matha­roo, man­ag­ing di­rec­tor of Hy­draulics and En­gi­neer­ing In­stru­ments, New Delhi.

Con­grat­u­lat­ing the prizewinners Singh said there was a spark of creativ­ity and ex­cel­lence in each stu­dent, which they should ex­plore and trig­ger to ex­ploit it to the max­i­mum.

While ad­dress­ing the gath­er­ing, prin­ci­pal Narinder Sandhu lauded the ef­forts put in by the stu­dents for mak­ing the col­lege proud.

She high­lighted the var­i­ous aca­demics, cul­tural and sports achieve­ments of the col­lege.

She also in­formed the guests about the achieve­ments of the stu­dents in the 'in­ter-zonal youth and her­itage fes­ti­val', which was held at the col­lege.

She ad­vised the stu­dents to work hard and ex­cel in the final ex­ams.
