Meet on ‘for­est for sus­tain­able liveli­hood’

A work­shop on “For­est for sus­tain­able Liveli­hood” was con­ducted at Gov­ern­ment High School, Salem Tabri, un­der Na­tional En­vi­ron­ment Aware­ness Cam­paign of the union min­istry of en­vi­ron­ment and forests.

Head­mistress Anita Ku­mari, who is also in charge of cam­paign Sukhdev Chan­del, con­ducted the work­shop. Re­source per­sons at the work­shop were Dr San­deep K Jain, co- opted mem­ber, An­i­mal Wel­fare Board of In­dia, union min­istry of en­vi­ron­ment and forests, and chief co- or­di­na­tor, CAPE- In­dia; Na­tional awardee S Ran­jit Singh and nodal of­fi­cer Man­preet Kaur. Jain stressed on the need to check en­vi­ron­ment degra­da­tion. He pre­sented stick­ers and CDs on con­ser­va­tion and an­i­mal wel­fare to schools. S Ran­jit Singh talked about con­ser­va­tion of nat­u­ral re­sources and its im­por­tance.
