The NCC cadets of 3 Pun­jab Girls Bn NCC, Lud­hi­ana, cre­ated aware­ness on the need to keep sur­round­ings clean and launched a clean­li­ness drive at the Rose Gar­den here.

They cleaned the area at first and then cre­ated aware­ness about why main­tain­ing clean­li­ness at pub­lic places, in­clud­ing parks, hospi­tal roads etc. was es­sen­tial. The cadets ac­quired knowl­edge on so­lar sys­tem in­clud­ing sun, nine plan­ets and stars at Nehru Plan­e­tar­ium.

Camp com­man­dant Lt Col S Sehgal de­liv­ered a lec­ture on ca­reer coun­sel­ing, in which he cov­ered dif­fer­ent em­ploy­ment op­por­tu­ni­ties and guided them to de­cide some of the vi­able op­tions for cadets.

Arora and Naval Kohra from NGO Safe Drive and Stay Alive de­liv­ered a lec­ture on Traf­fic Rules and Road Safety.

A lec­ture was also de­liv­ered in which cadets were taught qual­i­ties of good lead­ers.

The traf­fic po­lice in its ef­fort to deal with unau­tho­rised auto rick­shaws ply­ing on city roads, have give warned the auto rick­shaw unions of strict ac­tion if they failed to pre­pare the req­ui­site doc­u­ments.

ACP (traf­fic) Swa­pan Sharma said, “From Septem­ber 1, we will start check­ing the doc­u­ments of the auto rick­shaws and will im­pound auto rick­shaw of those who fail to pro­duce any doc­u­ment.”

Ac­cord­ing to an es­ti­mate there are thou­sands of auto rick­shaws ply­ing on city roads with­out any req­ui­site doc­u­ments thus vi­o­lat­ing the norms.
