City students get insights into working of UN
The students of a city school attended a conference on Indian Model United Nations (INMUN) at New Delhi from August 23 to 25 during which they were acquainted with the role played by the United Nations in the promotion of peace and development.
Organised annually by Ryan Group of Institutions, the INMUN conference gave students an insight into how the UN works.
The five students of the city-based Ryan International School - Yashika Gupta, Mansirat Singh, Rajat Gupta, Tanisha Gupta and Harsahib Singh - represented Qatar in the conference.
The students discussed various foreign policies of the UN and participated in the voting for resolutions to be passed. As delegates of their country the students presented themselves as active and responsible citizens of the local and global community.
School principal Parveena John lauded the UN model. “It is a unique platform and allows students to think critically and develop communication skills,” she said.
