PAU sci­en­tist ap­pointed to se­nior post at ICAR

A se­nior hor­ti­cul­tur­ist at Pun­jab Agri­cul­tural Univer­sity (PAU), Wasakha Singh Dhillon, has been ap­pointed as an as­sis­tant di­rec­tor gen­eral at the In­dian Coun­cil of Agri­cul­tural Re­search (ICAR), New Delhi, for five years. Dhillon, who is also the di­rec­tor of Pun­jab Horticultural Post-har­vest Tech­nol­ogy Cen­tre (PHPTC), has con­trib­uted to horticultural re­search in terms of crop im­prove­ment and post-har­vest tech­nol­ogy. His sci­en­tific find­ings have helped in the de­vel­op­ment of 10 va­ri­eties, a root­stock and 25 tech­nolo­gies of dif­fer­ent fruit crops, which are in­cluded in the “Pack­age of Prac­tices” of PAU.
