House nod for Out­door Ad­ver­tise­ment Pol­icy

The House also passed the Pun­jab Mu­nic­i­pal Out­door Ad­ver­tise­ment Pol­icy, 2012, dur­ing the meet­ing.

The pol­icy is ap­pli­ca­ble to all ad­ver­tise­ments within the lim­its of the mu­nic­i­pal cor­po­ra­tion, whether on land, build­ing, wall, hoard­ing, frame, kiosk, post, tree guards or through other means by which they are vis­i­ble from a pub­lic place, whether mov­ing or non-mov­ing.

"The pol­icy dis­cour­ages vis­ual clut­ter­ing and pro­vides for al­lo­ca­tion of ad­ver­tise­ment sites through trans­par­ent pro­ce­dure that is auc­tion and e-ten­der­ing. All the mu­nic­i­pal­i­ties are ex­pected to ear­mark ar­eas and sites for out­door ad­ver­tise­ment and al­lot the same in keep­ing with the pa­ram­e­ters de­fined in the pol­icy," read the no­ti­fi­ca­tion.

The House passed the pol­icy that was stated in the agenda.
