Since its in­cep­tion in Au­gust 2002, Baazar Kolkata has been a pi­o­neer and part of the Value Re­tail Rev­o­lu­tion in East­ern In­dia. The brand came into ex­is­tence 17 years ago and since then has given its cus­tomers va­ri­ety, in­no­va­tion and qual­ity at af­ford­able prices with­out com­pro­mis­ing on ser­vice.

The brand is cur­rently avail­able in West Ben­gal, Ut­tar Pradesh, Bi­har, Jhark­hand, Tripura, As­sam and Odisha through 55 stores cov­er­ing more than 3,00,000 sq. ft. of re­tail space. The chain has been awarded the “Most Suc­cess­ful Value Re­tailer in East In­dia” by IM­AGES Re­tail Awards thrice now.

Odisha, as a re­gion has de­vel­oped im­mensely in the re­cent times. With ac­cess to me­dia and the In­ter­net, the peo­ple here have de­vel­oped unique fash­ion pref­er­ences and shop­ping habits. With ever in­creas­ing dis­pos­able in­comes, peo­ple are in­creas­ingly com­ing to mod­ern re­tail for­mats and spend­ing qual­ity time shop­ping. In short, the game in the east has com­pletely changed and re­tail­ers are leav­ing no stone un-turned to re­tain their loyal con­sumer base.

“Baazar Kolkata has be­come a nat­u­ral choice for masses be­cause of its propo­si­tions of value, va­ri­ety and in­no­va­tion. Cus­tomers in Odisha are a loyal lot. They choose a re­tail brand and tend to stick with their pre­ferred re­tail destination. Cur­rently, we have 13 stores in Odisha, mainly in Bhubaneswar, Cut­tack, Puri and Sam­balpur. Due to our phe­nom­e­nal growth in Odisha in re­cent times, we are plan­ning on in­tro­duc­ing many more stores in the cur­rent fi­nan­cial year,” says Ab­hishek Khemka, Di­rec­tor, Baazar Kolkata.
