Video­con Tele­com for­ays into se­cu­rity

Video­con Tele­com has an­nounced its en­try into the se­cu­rity and sur­veil­lance seg­ment with launch of an ana­logue and in­ter­net-based closed-cir­cuit tele­vi­sion (CCTV) cam­era, Wal­lCam. The com­pany ex­pects to gen­er­ate rev­enue of Rs 1,115 crore from this seg­ment by 2021. Through di­ver­si­fi­ca­tion into new busi­ness ver­ti­cals, such as se­cu­rity and sur­veil­lance and mo­bile value-added ser­vices, the com­pany is tar­get­ing topline rev­enue of Rs 300 crore dur­ing 2017-18. The com­pany has un­veiled an ana­logue and in­ter­net pro­to­col-based CCTV cam­era in the price range of Rs 1,50,000 to Rs 2,50,000 a unit.
